Sovereign Care N.E. Ltd has successfully completed the procedures to become a registered domiciliary care provider with CQC
On the 31st July The Grange held a Medieval Day with Tombola stalls, Pony rides, a BBQ. Although it was a wet time for those in the stocks! The weather came out fine and the sunshine heralded an enjoyable time for all.

Staff: Ann Marie - 30 years old on the 22nd of June – many happy returns from everyone at Highfield and head office.
Resident: Billy Dodds – 71 yrs young on 23rd July - Happy Birthday Billy and many happy returns from everyone at Highfield and Sovereign Care.
In March 2010 Gill Bundy passed her BTEC level 3 working with medications with the NHS.
On the 7th June Gill also passed her fit persons interview and is now registered manager of The Grange - Congratulation Gill well done!
In March 2010 Handyman Norman Evans and Domestic Olwen Robinson both passed their NCFE Level 2 in cleaning and support services (well done).
One of our newest Care Support Officers Andria Raistrick is currently undergoing her NVQ2 in Social Care (Good Luck)

We are currently re-designing the front garden at The Grange. The residents have made drawings of how they feel the garden should be designed and we are going to invite Steven Hunter and Linda Hunter to come along and judge the winner. There will also be a small ceremony and buffet to mark the occasion. It is then hoped to enlist people who could come and gives us their time to help us get started.
4 Care Officers, Patrica Hallows, Margaret Kaunispaik, Laura Waugh, and Diane Charlton have completed BTEC Level 3 Award in ‘Working with Medication’ in May 2010.

A 13-week Dementia training course started on 13th May 2010.

This course is intended to add to our current expertise in the care of people with dementia.
The managing director, operations manager and all home managers completed they first 3 days introduction training in Investors in People. They spent the 3 days at the Sunderland Business Park where they were introduced to the fundamentals surrounding the IIP standards, how to implement those standards and how best to involve the staff in the process of quality development.
The operations manager (Yvonne Mcphee) said about the training ‘it highlights that the work we have already undertaken in terms of driving up the quality of the services is on the right track and emphasises that in order to improve and maintain quality services, we have to develop and invest in our people'.
The plan is that SCNE Ltd should be accredited within 12 months.
